Medicare: When Can You Change PlansPosted by CSAdvocare on May 22, 2014 in Newsletters | 0 comments
People with traditional Medicare supplemental coverage are limited to when they can join or change their supplement. You can drop your supplement and join an Advantage plan during the Annual Open Enrollment.
If you joined an Advantage plan for the first time, you can switch to a supplement only during the first twelve months. Supplement plans have a guarantee issue during your initial open enrollment and special enrollment periods only. After that you may be subject to underwriting and possible coverage denial.
If you have a Medicare Advantage plan or Part D Prescription plan you can make changes during the annual Open Enrollment – October 15th thru December 7th.
2015 prescription coverage changes:
- Initial Deductible: Changes from $310 to $320
- Initial Coverage Level: Changes from $2,850 to $2,960
- Out-of-Pocket Threshold: Changes from $4,550 to $4,700
- Coverage Gap Discounts: 55% Brand and 25% Generic for 2015
